The bilingual concept in KIWI kindergartens is based on English-language support in everyday kindergarten life by "English Assistants" (bilingual childcare workers). In this way, children should become familiar with the English language, i.e. to develop a “sense” for this language.
The focus is on everyday interactions between children and English-speaking adults (such as greeting, situations related to breakfast, dressing and undressing, etc.) and intensive linguistic attention within the framework of English-language offers.
The playful and natural contact is essential here, so that the children develop an open attitude towards this language. At the same time, the children's willingness to learn can be encouraged in general and their foreign language skills in particular can be developed.
